3 Days in Florida: Your Dream Itinerary

So, you’re going to Florida! This southernmost American state is home to Orlando, oranges, and plenty of other things that don’t begin with the letter o, including beautiful beaches, amusement parks, a NASA base, and one of the most biodiverse animal kingdoms on earth.

While you may not have time to go all the way to infinity and beyond, this whistlestop list will give you the best itinerary for 3 days in Florida with plenty of opportunities for an out of this world adventure.

Check out our range of excursions from Orlando and feel free to get in touch and let us help plan your dream holiday.

3 Days in Florida: Space, Sand, Swamp and Everything In Between!

Day 1: The Kennedy Space Center

If you ever dreamed of being an astronaut, visiting the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) can bring you One Small Step closer to this reality.

Located a one-hour drive east of Orlando, the Center has operated as NASA’s primary launch site since 1968 and offers an in-depth exploration of the past, present, and future of human spaceflight.

Our #1 Kennedy Space Center Tour is a full day experience (around 12 hours total) which includes transport from Orlando, a guided walking tour, admission to Signature Kennedy Space Center Bus Tour of the expansive operations, the KSC Shuttle Launch experience, and more.

The KSC experience is also available as a private tour for a more intimate experience.

If you’ve ever wondered how rockets are made, the bus tour visits the Vehicle Assembly Building – one of the largest buildings in the world at 525ft tall and 518ft wide. Continue to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, which hosts a recreation of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s 1969 moon landing.

Back at the Visitor Complex, you can visit the Shuttle Launch Experience’s simulation allowing you to blast off from the Space Center without leaving the earth’s orbit.

If that isn’t enough, the Center’s latest exhibition – Gateway: The Deep Space Launch Complex – is also included.

This immersive ride offers budding space cadets four epic journeys.

Join the Perseverance rover and take in the rugged beauty of Mars. Visit the moons of Saturn and Jupiter. Venture 40 lightyears away to the Trappist-1 system of exoplanets and vistas of cosmic nebulas. There is something for every intrepid explorer in this exhibition!

While these are only the highlights of The Kennedy Space Center, there is so much more to explore. If you can, view the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame and reflect on all you’ve learned about during a stroll through the Rocket Garden.

A great day out for the whole family, you’ll be reluctant to return from your trip to the stars.

Day 2: Clearwater Beach

After you’ve explored the outer galaxies of Kennedy Space Center on day 1 of your Florida itinerary, Clearwater Beach is the perfect place to unwind.

Frequently voted the number 1 beach in the US, this peaceful stretch of shoreline offers 3 miles of white sand, a place to spot dolphins and manatees, and all the seafood you could desire at Pier 60.

If you’re keen to continue adventuring the unknown, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium is celebrating its 50th year of being a dedicated sanctuary to rescuing and rehabilitating marine life.

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium offers many experiences, including Dolphintopia. This multi-faceted immersive exhibition shares the science behind these fascinating creatures, plus interactive activities.

Elsewhere, visitors can meet rough-nosed and bottle-nosed dolphins, feed a stingray, and even make a salad for a sea turtle!

Speaking of lunch, our tour to Clearwater Beach includes a trip to the aquarium, dedicated beach time, and a delicious meal at a coastal restaurant.

After all that fun, you can digest while walking along the pier. Listen to buskers, buy handicrafts from local artisans, or just watch the waves lapping against the sand as you soak up some sun. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

If you want to swim in the same crystal clear water as the majestic sea life, Clearwater Beach offers watersports by the boat-load. From jet skiing and parasailing to snorkelling and deep-sea fishing, there is something for every thrill seeker.

For travellers wanting something a little more fast-paced, the 72ft-long Sea Screamer is one for you. Coast Guard licensed, of course, the craft’s dual twin-turbocharged engines reach up to 35mph as it roars through the sea.

If you need an even bigger boat, we’ve got you covered with a four-hour deep sea fishing excursion on the 90ft Super Queen. A perfect trip for seasoned anglers or beginners, the tour offers 3-4 stops, lunch on board, and the potential of year-round headline-grabbing catches.

So pack your towels or tackle and let us take you to this brilliant beach destination on your 3-day Florida itinerary!

Day 3: Central Florida Everglades

It wouldn’t be an itinerary for visiting Florida without mentioning alligators (please note: no alligators are sponsoring this post).

Florida is famed for its wetland wilderness, which you really have to see to believe.

Everglades National Park comprises 1.5 million acres of wetlands, which is home to literally hundreds of animal species including crocodiles, panthers, and black bears – oh my!

But, unlike Clearwater Beach, we absolutely do not recommend swimming in these waters.

We do, on the other hand, offer an airboat adventure along Boggy Creek, which is much safer. The airboat travels up to 40mph and offers an in-situ vista of the breathtaking natural landscape.

There are activities for adults and children alike in the Everglades. Visitors can explore the indigenous Miccosukee Indian village and learn about the tribe’s rich cultural heritage that is 14,000 to 15,000 years old. Listen to traditional stories and history of the Miccosukee Tribe that are brought to life through ancestral artifacts.

This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers an adventure for every type of explorer, such as camping, walking trails, bird-watching, biking, kayaking and more!

The landscape is preserved and as unchanged as possible, allowing for respectful, educational, and thrilling visits without worrying about disturbing the natural wildlife.

While this is only a taste of the many delights the Orange County has to offer, we hope you’ll be inspired to drop us a line about any of our tour packages so we can help you pick your adventure.
